Roderick Skeete

Hi, I’m Roderick Skeete, a Personal Trainer at Peak Physique. I’ve been training for more than five years and have been part of the Peak Physique team for the past four months. I’m certified through ISSA and bring a strong background in athletics, coaching, and mentorship into every session. My approach to training focuses on long-term physical and mental improvement, helping clients build confidence in what their bodies are capable of over time.

Why I Love Being a Personal Trainer

I love being a trainer because I get to watch people improve their lives in real time. Seeing clients grow stronger, more confident, and more comfortable in their bodies, both physically and mentally, is what makes this work meaningful to me.

How I Became a Trainer

I’ve always been involved in athletics and fascinated by strength and endurance. My father coached and trained me growing up, and during high school, I began mentoring and coaching others while competing in track and field. When I later noticed my mom struggling with becoming more sedentary, I offered to train her, and that experience solidified my desire to help others reclaim their strength, health, and confidence.

My Advice for Beginners

There’s no quick fix or magic solution when it comes to fitness; it takes time. The most important thing is showing up for yourself consistently and giving yourself grace along the way. Every effort counts, and progress builds day by day.

Why Fitness Matters to Me

My goal is to see people reach their 90s with full cognitive function and the physical ability to live independently, without relying heavily on prescriptions or assistance. Fitness strengthens both the mind and body, and when those are healthy, people are better equipped to create positive change in their own lives and the lives of others.

My Family

I have three children, with one more on the way, with my wife Britta. My daughters Izabella and Raenira and my son Xavier, all have unique personalities and share a strong creative side, especially in music and the arts.

My Hobbies

Outside of the gym, I enjoy watching sports, bowling, drawing, playing video games, and writing.

I encourage open communication about aches, pains, or physical and mental struggles so I can support you as fully as possible throughout your training journey.
